Normally closed solenoid valves are the most commonly used valves in instruments. When the coil is not energized, the valve is closed and the pipeline is cut off; when the coil is energized, the valve opens and the medium flows. They are mostly used in equipment that requires normal shut-off and short-term air/water flow during operation, and are compatible with air pumps, vacuum pumps, and water pumps.

Internal Structure: Solenoid coil, moving iron core, return spring, sealing plug, valve body, inlet/outlet ports. Compared to normally open valves, the spring preload keeps the valve core normally pressed against the valve orifice.

Working Principle:

1. Two-position, two normally closed (one inlet, one outlet)

De-energized and stationary: The spring presses against the valve core, and the sealing gasket blocks the valve orifice, isolating the inlet and outlet, preventing gas and liquid from passing through;

Electrified and operating: The coil generates magnetic force, overcoming the spring tension to lift the valve core, opening the valve orifice, connecting the inlet and outlet, and allowing the medium to flow;

De-energized and reset: The electromagnetic force disappears, the spring pushes the valve core back down to block the valve orifice, and the pipeline closes again.

2. Two-position, three-position normally closed (mainstay for beauty and negative pressure equipment)

Interface: P - Air inlet, A - Air outlet (connects to suction head), R - Air vent

Power off: P is closed, A is connected to R, the suction head is depressurized and there is no suction;

Power on: P is connected to A, R is closed, the vacuum pump provides negative pressure to the suction head, generating suction force.
